Baseball Recap: Monroe Township Victorious

While Monroe Township's win against South Brunswick wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Falcons skirted past the Vikings 6-4. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won five in a row.

Siddharth Desai looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Monroe Township: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Ben Faigin was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Chon, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win got Monroe Township back to even at 13-13. As for South Brunswick, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.

Coming up, Monroe Township will take on Old Bridge in a tournament on Saturday. As for South Brunswick, they will be playing at home against West Windsor-Plainsboro North at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
