Football Game Preview: Chopticon Braves vs. Great Mills Hornets

For the first time this season, Chopticon will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will square off against the Great Mills Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chopticon has given up an average of 36.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Chopticon came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against Huntingtown, falling 42-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Braves in their meetings with the Hurricanes: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Great Mills came up short against Calvert on Friday and fell 26-16. The Hornets were right on the edge of victory: they outscored the Cavaliers in the fourth quarter 14-6.

Chopticon will have to contain Zhaykahrii Plater as he made an impact in Great Mills' last game. He rushed for 89 yards and a pair of scores. Plater also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks and making seven total tackles.

Great Mills' loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Chopticon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Chopticon took a serious blow against Great Mills when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 42-0. Can the Braves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
