St. Francis is a perfect 4-0 against Trego since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Indians will take on the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
St. Francis is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Stockton a 66-0 shutout on Friday. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Tigers are ranked 88th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Francis found their leader in sophomore Zylas Martinez, who rushed for 96 yards and two scores, and also threw for 39 yards and one touchdown. Martinez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. Layn Todd was in the mix as well, providing St. Francis with two TDs.
St. Francis was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 276 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
One reason for the win was St. Francis' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Kody Moberly refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. Wyatt Klinzmann got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Trego put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past Quinter to the tune of 50-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Golden Eagles just coasted through the last quarter.
St. Francis better keep an eye on Ashton Wynn. He was instrumental in Trego's win, rushing for 78 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries, while also throwing for 83 yards and four TDs. Those four passing touchdowns gave Wynn a new career-high. Jack Conness was another key player, rushing for 105 yards and one score.
St. Francis' record now sits at 5-3. As for Trego, their record is now 8-0.
Thursday's contest might be decided on the ground. St. Francis has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 149.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Trego struggles in that department as they've been averaging 198.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for St. Francis against Trego when the teams last played back in October of 2019, as the squad secured a 60-12 win. In that game, the Indians amassed a halftime lead of 54-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
