Soccer Game Preview: Schurr vs. Bell Gardens

The Schurr Spartans will venture away from home to challenge the Bell Gardens Lancers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Schurr will be strutting in after a win while Bell Gardens will be coming in after a defeat.

Schurr is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Montebello with a sharp 7-0 victory on Monday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Spartans with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Bell Gardens unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 4-1 to Mark Keppel. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 594th, while the Aztecs are ranked 211th).

The win made it two in a row for Schurr and bumps their season record up to 7-12-1. As for Bell Gardens, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9-1.

Everything went Schurr's way against Bell Gardens in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Schurr made off with a 4-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Schurr since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
