Football Recap: Taft School Falls to Cheshire Academy in First Game of Season

Taft School kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the Cheshire Academy Cats and fell 28-0. The Big Red haven't had much luck with the Cats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Keegan Croucher was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 168 yards and three TDs. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Zach Dresch was in the mix too, providing Cheshire Academy with one touchdown.

Taft School and Cheshire Academy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Big Red are set to square off against their familiar foe Loomis Chaffee School at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Cheshire Academy will challenge rival Phillips Exeter Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
