Baseball Game Preview: Westside Patriots vs. Burke County Bears

The Westside Patriots are taking a road trip to square off against the Burke County Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Wednesday, Westside didn't have quite enough to beat Silver Bluff and fell 6-5.

Meanwhile, Burke County scored first but ultimately less than Jenkins County in their match on Wednesday. They fell just short of the War Eagles by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bears have suffered since March 6th.

Burke County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Westside, they dropped their record down to 10-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Westside came out on top in a nail-biter against Burke County when the teams last played on March 6th, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westside since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
