Softball Recap: Flowery Branch Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cedar Shoals on Tuesday, Flowery Branch came back down to earth. The Falcons took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Collins Hill Eagles on Wednesday. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 7-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in August of 2015, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Flowery Branch has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Collins Hill, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12.

Coming up, Flowery Branch will take on Dawson County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Collins Hill, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Dacula at 6:00 p.m. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
