Baseball Recap: Lumpkin County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Coahulla Creek on Tuesday, Lumpkin County came back down to earth. The Indians lost 13-2 to the Union County Panthers on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 5-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

Lumpkin County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Union County, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Coincidentally, Lumpkin County and Union County will both be playing Gilmer the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Indians will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
