Baseball Recap: Portal Comes Up Short

Portal suffered their closest defeat since February 22, 2025 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Jenkins County War Eagles by a score of 10-8. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Portal's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Jenkins County, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-16 record.

Looking ahead, Jenkins County will take on Burke County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Portal will be paying especially close attention to the War Eagles' contest: after the War Eagles face off against the Bears, they'll take on Portal again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
