Soccer Game Preview: Union Grove vs. Walnut Grove

The Union Grove Wolverines are taking a road trip to take on the Walnut Grove Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Union Grove comes in on three and Walnut Grove on five.

While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Union Grove who was credited with the victory on Thursday. The Wolverines got it done in the shootout by posting seven goals to Islands' six. William Cardoza had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Union Grove.

Walnut Grove's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Social Circle. The result was nothing new for Walnut Grove, who have now won eight contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Walnut Grove pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Union Grove, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
