Basketball Game Preview: Nogales Nobles vs. Ontario Jaguars

Nogales hasn't had much luck against Ontario recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Nogales Nobles are taking a road trip to take on the Ontario Jaguars at 4:45 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Nogales is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 39-24 win over Southlands Christian on Wednesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Nobles with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Ontario had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They skirted past the Yellowjackets 37-34. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 747th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ontario pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Nogales, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Nogales came up short against Ontario in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 53-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ontario's Hailey McDow, who went 9 for 21 on her way to 23 points.
