Volleyball Recap: New Heights Christian Academy Takes a Loss

New Heights Christian Academy was the 2-0 winner over Springdale when they last played one another on Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, New Heights Christian Academy sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 24-26, 26-24.

Lydia Hipple paced New Heights Christian Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Hipple got some help from Caitlin Meppelink and her 17 assists. Meppelink was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

New Heights Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-9-5. As for Springdale, the win snapped their losing streak at four matches and leaves them with a 5-13-1 record.

Coming up, New Heights Christian Academy will venture away from home to take on Golden City at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Springdale has already played their next match (against Elkins), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
