Softball Game Preview: Oak Hill Academy Raiders vs. Leake Academy Rebels

The Oak Hill Academy Raiders will face off against the Leake Academy Rebels at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Oak Hill Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Kirk Academy 4-3. The victory continues a trend for Oak Hill Academy in their matchups with Kirk Academy: they've now won four in a row.

Kaelyn Pennington spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Molly Aycock, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mary Crosley Coker, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on September 9th Leake Academy sidestepped Oak Hill Academy for a 3-2 win.

Leake Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Oak Hill Academy, their win bumped their record up to 13-11.
