Softball Recap: Coleman Beats Bennington for Their Sixth Straight Win

Coleman waltzed into their contest on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Bennington Bears get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Preslie Pigg was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marissa Holder, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Raylee Holder was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Coleman's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Bennington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

As of now, neither Coleman nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
