Baseball Recap: Claxton Comes Up Short

Claxton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 11-1 to the Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 last Tuesday.

Claxton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Dillard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Claxton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Emanuel County Institute, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Claxton is set to face off against their familiar foe Metter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Emanuel County Institute will take on rival Portal at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
