Football Recap: Camden Military Takes a Loss

Camden Military extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They were beaten by the Florence Christian Eagles 36-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 48-19 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Florence Christian, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. That looming 36-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Florence Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooks Poston, who rushed for 61 yards and one TD on only seven carries, and also picked up 70 receiving yards. Poston really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 70 yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Riley Minton, who threw for 234 yards and one touchdown on only 13 passes.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Camden Military will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Heathwood Hall Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Highlanders' defense has only allowed 7.3 points per game this season, so the Spartans' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Florence Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Wilson Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Andrew Miller and Milling Galloway.
