Football Recap: Moriarty Takes a Loss

After soaring to 50 points the game before, Moriarty was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They had to suffer through a 51-7 loss at the hands of the Bloomfield Bobcats. The Pintos have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Devin Ortiz threw for 64 yards on only five passes. Royce Dennisson was his top target, picking up 54 receiving yards. On the ground, Mario Romero rushed for 57 yards and one touchdown.

Moriarty's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Bloomfield, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Moriarty is set to face off against their familiar foe Grants at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bloomfield will square off against rival Bernalillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bobcats 11, the Spartans 11.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
