Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Christian Lions vs. Sandy Creek Patriots

The Trinity Christian Lions will square off against the Sandy Creek Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Trinity Christian's favor as the squad sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Sandy Creek has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Last Tuesday, Trinity Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Druid Hills and fell 8-7.

Trinity Christian got a good showing from Brady Rainwater, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Rainwater has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Logan Moss made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Aidan Whitaker was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Even though they lost, Trinity Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Druid Hills only managed seven hits.

Meanwhile, Sandy Creek lost 12-1 to Mary Persons on Thursday.

Sandy Creek saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Dorsey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Trinity Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Sandy Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15-1.
