Desert Heights Prep waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Valley Lutheran Flames, posting a 54-6 win. Considering the Yote have won three games by more than 43 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Desert Heights Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Justin Aguon, who rushed for 124 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries, and also threw for 58 yards and one TD. The Yote's leading receiver Mateo Kindler was Aguon's top target yet again, picking up 40 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 83 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Desert Heights Prep was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 312 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive contests.

Desert Heights Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Aguon and Kindler.

Desert Heights Prep's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Valley Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Heights Prep will square off against Mohave Accelerated at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant wideouts against one another: Aguon and Owen Honegger. As for Valley Lutheran, they will challenge Valley Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Flames will need to watch out since the Blue Devils have now posted at least 31 points in their last six games.
