Basketball Game Preview: San Juan Hills Stallions vs. Dana Hills Dolphins

The San Juan Hills Stallions are taking a road trip to face off against the Dana Hills Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Juan Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.

San Juan Hills is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against San Clemente on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. San Juan Hills lost 64-41 to San Clemente. The Stallions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-17.

San Juan Hills' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Adelyn Boberg, who posted 18 points and three steals, and Anna Shreeve, who had 14 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Boberg is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Morgan, who put up five points.

Even though they lost, San Juan Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Dana Hills came up short against San Clemente on Tuesday, falling 60-40. While losing is never fun, the Dolphins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 470th, while the Tritons are ranked 47th).

Dana Hills' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-16. As for San Juan Hills, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 13-10.

San Juan Hills strolled past Dana Hills in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 by a score of 46-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Juan Hills since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
