Meanwhile, Luis Valdez Leadership Academy's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cindy Avitia 46-16 on the road. The victory was just what Luis Valdez Leadership Academy needed coming off of a 53-0 defeat in their prior matchup.
Luis Valdez Leadership Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Andrea Mata Alejo, who scored eight points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Valeria Ruiz, who scored six points along with four steals.
Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit pushed their record up to 6-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 44 points. As for Luis Valdez Leadership Academy, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-4.
