            Softball Recap: Lincoln High Links vs. Columbus Discoverers        
        
		
        
        
            Lincoln High had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but  on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it seven. They lost  14-1 to the Columbus Discoverers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Links of the  17-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in September of 2024.
 Lincoln High saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Nora Davy, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  double and one  RBI. That  double was  Davy's first of the season.  Evie Becher was another,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  run and one  double.
As for Columbus,  the  victory snapped their losing streak at six games  and leaves them with a 3-6 record. Considering they have won three matchups by more than 11  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
On Columbus' side,  Liberty Bos made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (and only one walk). Bos was also stellar in the batter's box,  going a perfect 1-for-1 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Gracie Bos was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  stolen base. Another player making a difference was  Jayden Gernstein, who  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lincoln High will  square off against  rival Kearney  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, Columbus is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Bellevue East  at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday.
