Bishop Kelley took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Collinsville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Comets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Cardinals on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Comets as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Laura Karbowski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Bishop Kelley's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Deao, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Deao has hit this season.

Bishop Kelley's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Collinsville, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Kelley will take on McAlester at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Collinsville, they will welcome Charles Page at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
