Soccer Game Preview: Plainfield East vs. Plainfield North

The Plainfield East Bengals are taking a road trip to challenge the Plainfield North Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Plainfield East managed to keep up with Benet Academy until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Bengals lost 5-0 to the Redwings. While losing is never fun, Plainfield East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Benet Academy are ranked 67th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plainfield North). They came out on top against Plainfield South by a score of 4-2 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for Plainfield North.

Plainfield North's victory bumped their record up to 6-9-1. As for Plainfield East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Plainfield East was able to grind out a solid win over Plainfield North in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bengals since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
