Baseball Recap: Mays Takes a Loss

On Thursday, Mays came up short against Riverdale and fell 4-1. Mays has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chance Thomas put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Thomas wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tyson Williams, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Mays' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Riverdale, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Mays wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-7 loss against Jonesboro on the 8th. As for Riverdale, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-6 defeat against Luella on the 12th.
