Recap: Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers vs. Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart
The Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers won the last time they faced Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Georgetown Day secured a 43-39 W over Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart. Given Georgetown Day's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked third in District of Columbia, while Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart is ranked 119th in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Georgetown Day got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nevaeh Roberson out in front who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Roberson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madisyn Moore, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.
Georgetown Day's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Georgetown Day will take on Banneker at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, they will stay at home for another game and welcome National Cathedral at 5:45 p.m. on January 19th. National Cathedral and Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
