Baseball Recap: Cranford's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Cranford can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the St. Mary Gaels. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Michael Tripodi was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Cranford's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Brayden Fry, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Cranford now has a winning record of 8-7. As for St. Mary, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4-1.

Coming up, Cranford will face off against Summit at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Mary, they will be playing at home against Pompton Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gaels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
