Murrieta Valley picks up third straight win on the road

Recap: Murrieta Valley Nighthawks vs. Temecula Valley Golden Bears

The Murrieta Valley Nighthawks came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 44-40 W over Temecula Valley. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Murrieta Valley also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

Despite the loss, Temecula Valley still got an impressive performance from Sienna Fergerson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Fergerson hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Yvette Topete was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Murrieta Valley pushed their record up to 15-7 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Temecula Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Murrieta Valley will take on Great Oak at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Great Oak is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Temecula Valley, they will be playing at home against Vista Murrieta at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Vista Murrieta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
