Basketball Recap: Neumann Regional Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Niyah Tutler and Kallee Johnson

Neumann Regional Academy was the 47-29 winner over Muncy when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Neumann Regional Academy Golden Knights lost to the Muncy Indians at home by a 49-31 margin on Tuesday. The Golden Knights were down 43-17 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Kallee Johnson and Niyah Tutler certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Johnson posted eight points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks, while Tutler had nine points and three steals. That's the most points Johnson has posted since back in January.

Even though they lost, Neumann Regional Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Neumann Regional Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Muncy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Neumann Regional Academy will head out on the road to challenge Bucktail at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Muncy will take on South Williamsport in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
