Soccer Recap: Dougherty Takes a Loss

Dougherty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sumter County Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Panthers are ranked 106th).

Dougherty's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Sumter County, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Dougherty will head out to face off against Peach County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Peach County will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Dougherty surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sumter County, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Sumter County challenge Crisp County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. They are strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.3 goals per game this season.
