Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Josefina Mojica and Alejandra Perez Lead Tulelake to Victory

Tulelake won the last time they faced Surprise Valley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tulelake Honkers walked away with a 57-47 victory over the Surprise Valley Hornets. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Honkers.

Tulelake was led to victory by Alejandra Perez and Josefina Mojica. Perez posted 13 points and eight boards, while Mojica dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Mojica is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Na'Tali Idrogo, who scored six points and five rebounds.

Tulelake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Surprise Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amelia Cervantes, who put up 11 points. Adelia Martinez was another key player, putting up 11 points.

The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game.
