Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Caledonia-Mumford

Caledonia-Mumford waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Red Jacket Indians with a sharp 12-2 win. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Tyler Potter made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Caledonia-Mumford's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is undefeated (and 9-10 when he doesn't). Potter was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI and one triple. Those five hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Wiley, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Caledonia-Mumford is 7-3 when Wiley posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Trent Moser, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Caledonia-Mumford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Caledonia-Mumford's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Red Jacket, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Caledonia-Mumford nor Red Jacket have any future games scheduled.
