Calleigh Miller was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Miller was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Addie Kearbey was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zelma Cooley, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
East Carter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Naylor came up short against Central back in September and fell 9-6. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost eight in a row.
Naylor now has a losing record of 1-2. As for East Carter, their win bumped their record up to 2-12.
