Baseball Recap: Edgar Comes Up Short

Edgar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 7-3 to the Columbus Catholic Dons. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Lucas Stahnke made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Edgar's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Schneider, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Edgar's record is now 4-10. As for Columbus Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.

Looking ahead, Edgar will face off against Rhinelander at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbus Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on the 26th against Pardeeville at 5:00 p.m.
