Football Recap: Chincoteague Comes Up Short + How To Watch

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Chincoteague and Broadwater Academy meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Ponies took a 38-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The Ponies were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Chincoteague lost, don't look at Camaury Davis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Davis showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 53 yards.

Chincoteague dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Broadwater Academy, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Chincoteague will challenge Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. As for Broadwater Academy, they will take on Greenbrier Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on the 6th.
