Basketball Recap: Millennium Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Millennium won the last time they faced Turlock Christian, and Sarah Digiallonardo did her part to make sure it happened again. The Millennium Falcons took down the Turlock Christian Eagles 44-28 on Saturday thanks in part to Digiallonardo, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 17 boards. The contest was her third in a row with at least ten points.

Turlock Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faith Hayes, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 13 points and five rebounds. Hayes has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Emma Sarmiento was another key player, putting up seven points.

Millennium has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points per game. As for Turlock Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Millennium will head out on the road to square off against Venture Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Turlock Christian, they will welcome River Islands at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
