Soccer Recap: Homestead Comes Up Short

Homestead lost against Los Gatos back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Homestead Mustangs fell just short of the Los Gatos Wildcats by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 60th).

Saara Lahtela and Neve Keren scored both of Homestead's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Homestead now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Los Gatos, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, Homestead and Los Gatos will both be playing Gunn the next time they take the pitch. Homestead will head out to face Gunn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Los Gatos will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
