Football Game Preview: Hugoton Eagles vs. Goodland Cowboys

The Hugoton Eagles will challenge the Goodland Cowboys at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hugoton's defense has only allowed 10.3 points per game this season, so Goodland's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Things were looking good for Hugoton after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 20-14 to Holcomb. The Eagles have struggled against the Longhorns recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Goodland lost 42-22 to Scott on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Beavers are ranked 44th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Hugoton fell to 6-1. As for Goodland, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Hugoton came out on top in a nail-biter against Goodland when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 35-33. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cowboys turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
