Basketball Recap: Aptos Takes a Loss

Aptos lost against Santa Cruz last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Aptos Mariners had to suffer through a 67-35 loss at the hands of the Santa Cruz Cardinals.

Despite the loss, Aptos still got an impressive performance from Berkeley Ashby, who posted 24 points and eight rebounds. Ashby has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played.

Aptos has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season. As for Santa Cruz, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Aptos does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Cruz, they will challenge Scotts Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Scotts Valley will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Santa Cruz surely won't give up without a fight.
