Baseball Game Preview: Eastside Ghosts vs. Wayne Hills Patriots

The Eastside Ghosts will venture away from home to face off against the Wayne Hills Patriots at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Eastside's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four matchups, but Monday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Eastside's offense. They came up short against Passaic County Tech on Wednesday, falling 14-0.

Meanwhile, Wayne Hills owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They came out on top against Paramus by a score of 5-0. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by exactly five runs.

Wayne Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Eastside, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.

Eastside suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Wayne Hills when the teams last played back in April of 2021. Can the Ghosts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
