Basketball Recap: Wyomissing Extends Winning Streak to Four

Wyomissing had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They walked away with a 44-33 victory over the Northeastern Bobcats. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Bobcats are ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wyomissing's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addie Loeb, who posted 11 points. That's the most points Loeb has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Stewart, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Northeastern lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lauralye Kennedy, who scored 15 points. Leah Himes was another key player, putting up eight points.

Wyomissing's record is now 16-3. As for Northeastern, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Wyomissing has already played their next game (against Fleetwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Northeastern Bobcats face off against the Central York Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
