Soccer Game Preview: Elbert County vs. Washington-Wilkes

The Elbert County Blue Devils will head out on the road to take on the Washington-Wilkes Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Elbert County lost 6-1 to Franklin County on Monday. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Washington-Wilkes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Oglethorpe County, falling 7-1. The matchup was a close 2-1 at the break, but unfortunately for the Tigers it sure didn't stay that way.

Their goal came courtesy of Emiliano Aburto, which was the first he's scored this season.

Elbert County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Washington-Wilkes, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Elbert County's way against Washington-Wilkes in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Elbert County made off with a 9-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elbert County since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
