Basketball Recap: Rio Hondo Prep Extends Winning Streak to Three

Rio Hondo Prep extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from TARA RILEY. The Rio Hondo Prep Kares managed a 42-37 victory over the Providence Pioneers on Tuesday thanks in part to RILEY, who went 9 for 21 on her way to 21 points and five steals. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

The team also got some help courtesy of EVONNY ORTEGA, who posted five points in addition to five assists and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists.

Rio Hondo Prep's record now sits at 3-1. As for Providence, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rio Hondo Prep will head out to challenge Flintridge Sacred Heart at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Providence, they will venture away from home to square off against Mayfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
