Palmer Ridge piles up the points against Cheyenne Mountain

Recap: Palmer Ridge Bears vs. Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks

The Palmer Ridge Bears can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cheyenne Mountain 44-15 on the road. The victory was just what Palmer Ridge needed coming off of a 57-35 defeat in their prior matchup.

Palmer Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Delanie Mcmullen, who scored 11 points along with four steals. Sofia Romero was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Despite the loss, Cheyenne Mountain still got an impressive performance from Ainsley Norton, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Norton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Cheyenne Mountain struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Palmer Ridge racked up 11 assists.

Palmer Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-14.

Palmer Ridge will take on Mesa Ridge at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Mesa Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Wednesday. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they will head out on the road to square off against Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lutheran presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado (Lutheran is ranked 82nd, while Cheyenne Mountain is ranked 256th).
