Softball Recap: Elkhorn South Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Elkhorn South entered their tilt with Grand Island on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Islanders. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Storm also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

Lauren Schneider was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Macy Schneider, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Elkhorn South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .731. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Elkhorn South's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Grand Island, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Elkhorn South will take on Hastings at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Storm's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Grand Island, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln Northeast at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something the Islanders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
