Baseball Recap: Douglass Takes a Loss

After flying high against Stone Mountain last Monday, Douglass came back down to earth. The Astros came up short against the Stephenson Jaguars on Tuesday, falling 12-1. The loss continues a trend for the Astros in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost three in a row.

Jamarius Glover made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Anthony Alexander, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Douglass' defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Stephenson, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Douglass will venture away from home to square off against Riverdale at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Astros surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stephenson, they will welcome Mt. Zion at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
