Baseball Recap: Vallejo Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Vallejo and Hercules, and Hercules kept the tradition alive. The Redhawks fell just short of the Titans by a score of 8-7 on Wednesday. The Redhawks have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

David Bernstine III was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Robert Guzman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Vallejo's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Hercules, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-8-2.

Vallejo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hercules, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 18-10 loss against St. Patrick-St. Vincent on the 16th.
