Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wesleyan). They put the hurt on the Pace Academy Knights with a sharp 10-0 win on Saturday. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Maddox McCollum tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brice Gillis, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he's brought in this season. Another player making a difference was William Wright, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Wesleyan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Wesleyan's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Pace Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wesleyan beat Pace Academy by a score of 4-2 later that day.
