Basketball Recap: iSchool of Lewisville Takes a Loss

On Friday, ISchool of Lewisville faced Dynamic Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The iSchool of Lewisville Cougar were outmatched by the Dynamic Prep - and fell 67-36. The matchup marked the Cougar's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

ISchool of Lewisville's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Romiel Carter, who posted five points. David Iweze was another key player, going 5 for 10 on his way to 10 points and six boards.

Even though they lost, iSchool of Lewisville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. This was only their first loss (out of eight games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Dynamic Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Toombs, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Toombs is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last 15 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jermaine O'Neal Jr., who went 6 of 8 to rack up 13 points along with five assists and five boards.

ISchool of Lewisville's loss dropped their record down to 18-3. As for Dynamic Prep, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-4.

Looking ahead, iSchool of Lewisville will square off against Legacy School of Sport Sciences at 4:00 p.m. on February 15th. As for Dynamic Prep, they will take on Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes on Tuesday. One thing working in Dynamic Prep's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
