Football Recap: Proctor Academy Comes Up Short

Proctor Academy extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-6. They took a blow against the Pingree Highlanders, falling 56-7. The Hornets lost against the Highlanders in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 20-13 score last time.

As for Pingree, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The matchup marked their most dominant victory of the season.

Jack Spear continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 210 yards and three TDs while completing 90% of his passes, and also punching in a pair of scores on the ground. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (168.8).

Looking ahead, Proctor Academy will take on Capital Prep Harbor at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pingree, they will face off against Greenwich Country Day at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Highlanders will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
